Post Apocalyptic Wizard
From a musty tome of old, a wizard chants into being a dancing serpent of light.
This was an exercise in really pushing the light and dark contrast in my art. Older works of mine have always been boring flat lighting with very low contrast. Can I amp that up just a bit? Tell the viewer's eye where to look? Let's find out.
6 - Effects
The glow. The glowing of the serpent! It shines with blurry hard light!
1 - Scribble
What's happening here? Some kind of wizard lady is casting a spell.
2 - Sketch
Finer details emerge. Is that a belt? Or a sash? Nice boots! Are you a post apocalyptic wizard? Kinda looks like it.
3 - Pencils
Sculpting the line art out of the sketch. Definitely a post apocalyptic wizard.
4 - Flat Colors
What's your color scheme here? Yellows and blues. Light the place up with your magic!
5 - Render
Light and shadows play with one another to build volumes in the space. Casting a spell indeed!
